I am a qualified, CRB checked teacher, with over 15 years experience teaching chemistry at an outstanding Kingston girls Grammar school, an Independent school and a Sixth Form College. I have also tutored for the past 10 years on a one to one basis, helping students who are currently attending school and college and also home schooled students.

Being a qualified teacher myself, I am very aware of the time constraints schools have in teaching the Chemistry syllabus and how easy it is for students to struggle with the necessary pace of the lessons. I am highly experienced at supporting students of all abilities, all levels and in all syllabi, using a variety of teaching methods to explain key concepts in both theoretical and practical topics and to develop effective exam techniques. This is done in order to supplement their current school lessons, or by producing a personalised learning plan, when necessary, for home schooled students.

I have a very approachable manner and I feel confident that each student will benefit from the tutoring I provide, All students will have the opportunity to interact and consequently succeed. Due to Covid I started tutoring online. This has been very successful, allowing me to send worksheets in advance and share documents or power points during the sessions. I use OneNote which has an electronic whiteboard and pen and I recommend each student to obtain an electronic pen, as they can then also write on the shared screen, making each lesson more interactive. This however is not essential as verbal communication is just as effective. Some students now prefer face to face lessons, which I am also happy to do, preferably at my home, but I will travel to students' homes if necessary. This would involve a travelling fee.
