Chloe

I am an experienced and dedicated Maths Tutor with over 10 years of success helping students improve their confidence, develop strong mathematical understanding, and achieve the grades they deserve.

I offer regular weekly tuition, intensive holiday sessions, and flexible ad hoc support tailored to each student’s needs. Whether a student is aiming to secure a pass, boost their confidence, or achieve top grades, I create a supportive and encouraging environment that helps them succeed.

I hold a First Class Honours degree in Financial Mathematics and completed a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics before beginning my teaching career in schools.

As a patient, approachable, and hard-working tutor, I believe in building genuine understanding rather than simply teaching students how to pass exams. My goal is to help students become more confident, independent learners who feel comfortable tackling challenging topics.

Teaching Experience

I have extensive experience teaching Mathematics in secondary schools across the West Midlands, working with students of all abilities — from those requiring additional support to gifted and talented learners aiming for the highest grades.

My classroom experience has given me a strong understanding of the GCSE and KS2 curricula, including working closely with SEN students and adapting lessons to suit a wide range of learning styles and needs.

In addition, I am a fully qualified GCSE and KS2 examination marker. This provides valuable insight into how marks are awarded, common mistakes students make, and the most effective exam techniques to maximise results.

I also have experience supporting students preparing for Functional Skills Mathematics qualifications and understand the specific skills and strategies required to pass successfully.

Tutoring Approach

I tailor every lesson to the individual student. I begin by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals through discussion, targeted questions, and where appropriate, past paper assessments.

Lessons are carefully adapted to focus on the areas where students need the most support, while also building confidence and exam technique. I encourage students to actively contribute to lesson focus areas so sessions remain engaging, relevant, and productive.

I teach online using Zoom, which allows both myself and the student to interactively annotate and work through problems together in real time. My friendly and relaxed teaching style helps students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — an essential part of learning and improving in Maths.

To further support progress, I am happy to provide and mark additional work outside of lessons where beneficial.
