I came into teaching later in life, as I was working in Accountancy and had the opportunity to teach Basic Skills within the establishment I worked. Accidentally, I found something that I thoroughly enjoyed, therefore I pursued a teaching qualification. My teaching experience has been varied over the last 20years.

As my entry into teaching came later in my working life, my first experience was teaching through an agency, then long term agency work. Within this time, I was pushed into teaching Math and found I could dissect the problems and convey this to the pupil for a good understanding and have taught Maths primary up to High School G.C.S.E Higher, along with teaching adults and children to read and improve their English up to G.C.S.E. It has been inspirational and enjoyable for me, as through feed back, many of the pupils have achieved higher levels within schools.

I seem to build a good rapport with pupils quickly and easily. I use different approaches in finding out how the pupil/student understands what I am trying to teach. I find great enjoyment in discovering they understand the concept, when initially they found it difficult and this gives them insurmountable confidence and spurs them on to achieve more.
