Ruth has been an outstanding tutor for GCSE English Language and Literature. She has provided excellent support for our two children of very different ability. She has been able to stretch and challenge the more able child who is aiming for a level 9. She has also been able to offer appropriate support for the less able child who by the time he reached GCSE was working at a level 6/7. Ruth is a first rate tutor who has been tutoring my year 11 daughter in English Language and Literature. We have seen huge progress! She is organised, structured, reliable and flexible. She gives regular feedback, to both my daughter and me. She has introduced some really useful techniques to help maximise exam performance. Perhaps what really stands Ruth out from other tutors is her caring and supportive attitude. Ruth has been teaching my son Sociology to prepare him for A levels. He had to be brought back up to level over the past few months and be made to refocus too. Ruth has been very patient, consistent, super organised and very direct too to encourage him to do the work. He enjoys the lessons and now focuses more on his studies and it is giving him confidence too. The lessons currently continue till his exams. Ruth is also very approachable if I have questions about his progress too. I highly recommend Ruth.

Ruth has been tutoring my son since July 2021 prior to him commencing year 10. My son has ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and anxiety. We wanted an English tutor who had an understanding of his neurodiversity and could take this into account when helping him with his GCSE English language and literature. Ruth had been amazing. She is very knowledgeable about the GCSE syllabus and has helped my son’s conference in English tremendously. She has also been working with his anxiety, teaching him strategies to help him cope in various situations. My son considers Ruth a member of our family and talks to her about everything and anything. We never have any problems getting him to do his English tutoring session. Ruth has also done some work with my husband and myself helping us to learn to deal with a child who is neurodiverse. She has a wealth of knowledge and is always there when you need her.
