Teaching Experience

I have been tutoring students in A-Level Psychology for a few years and I have a vast experience supporting young learners in Urdu, English and Maths. I understand how to adapt my teaching for different levels. My goal is not only to help students succeed in exams but also to make learning engaging and enjoyable.

One of my recent students achieved excellent exam results and successfully progressed to one of their desired universities. I focus on building the skills and confidence that lead to these kinds of outcomes, ensuring each student feels supported and prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.

My lessons are ideal for GCSE and A-Level Urdu and Psychology students who want structured, supportive guidance to achieve their full potential.

Over the past six years, I have gained varied teaching and tutoring experience:

· A-Level Psychology (2024–2026): Tutored students one-to-one via Superprof, focusing on exam preparation, essay writing, and mastering complex content, helping the student gain confidence and achieve stronger exam performance.

· GCSE Urdu (Sep 2025–June 2026): Provided structured, biweekly lessons to support exam readiness, focusing on fluency, comprehension, and exam-style practice. My student made outstanding progress in speaking and writing, and I have received excellent feedback from the parent on lesson clarity and engagement. By the end of the year the student felt well-supported and was achieving grade 8-9 results in mock exams.

· KS1 English & Maths (2020–2025): Supported younger learners in developing strong literacy and numeracy foundations, using interactive activities to build confidence.

I focused on breaking down difficult topics and sharing effective revision strategies which supported their exam preparation, This also strengthened my teaching skills and subject understanding.

Tutoring Approach

I make my lessons engaging and accessible by breaking down complex concepts and encouraging critical thinking. My teaching approach includes interactive discussions, real-life examples, and exam-focused strategies to help students understand and apply key ideas effectively. I also provide structured notes, practice questions, and personalised feedback to support learning. Each lesson typically lasts 30-60 minutes, balancing theory, application, and revision. I adapt my teaching style based on each student’s needs, whether they need help with exam techniques, essay writing, or grasping core psychological theories. I am currently pursuing a BSc in Psychology and my lessons are designed for GCSE and A-Level students who want to build confidence and excel in psychology.

Whilst teaching Urdu, I begin by assessing each student’s current level to tailor lessons that fit their needs. For those new to the language or casual learners, I use clear explanations, relatable examples, and regular practice in conversation and writing to build confidence. For students aiming to improve their mother tongue, I focus on strengthening core skills through practical, relevant lessons. For exam-focused learners, I emphasise past paper practice, writing techniques, exam strategies, and personalised feedback to help them achieve top results.

My daughter has been tutored by Amna for many months now and I have seen how dedicated, pasionate, kind, understanding, reassuring Amna has been. My daughter is a very anxious student but is always so comfortable and becomes more confident with every lesson. Her urdu has excelled in all areas- speaking, listening, reading and writing. Amna tailors her lessons to each identified need. She creates strategies that work best to the student's strengths. She is clear in instruction. Incredibly patient. It is undeniably clear Amna has many years of experience in teaching and my daughter and myself have become very fond of her ungoing teaching and support.
