Lucy is an excellent and inspiring tutor. I very much enjoy and benefit from our weekly online lessons and have made good progress as a beginner Cello player. Lucy is friendly, with a professional approach and a huge amount of knowledge about music and the instrument itself. The teaching is appropriately paced for me and Lucy is a very patient teacher, supporting and correcting any mistakes with practical advice. I would not hesitate to recommend Lucy to anyone wishing to learn an instrument.

I researched tutor profiles very carefully before approaching Lucy and I’m so happy I did. She’s enthusiastic and fun to work with whilst paying absolute attention to detail in every aspect of technique and genuinely wanting me to get the most from my cello and time with her. Lucy is an excellent tutor; enthusiastic, patient and encouraging. My daughter is delighted with her lessons and there is real progress, and an audible difference, in the quality of her playing each week.

Lucy has a good knowledge of Cello. She makes my son comfortable and she's friendly and helpful. Her notes are detailed and clear and we can see our son is on a solid path on his cello playing journey. Lucy was also open from day 1 to getting my son to examination levels which is very important to us.

I’m an absolute older novice student. Lucy has made learning to play, read music and understand my instrument an absolute pleasure. I’ve gone from fumbling with YouTube to simple notes but with an understanding I couldn’t get off videos. Lucy has provided access to excellent technical help, a lot of it in her own time, at a nice price which made my cello sound so much better. The lesson preparation and structure is well prepared and working very well. Don’t think I could have found a more helpful , better tutor without an awful lot of effort... if even at all. Highly recommend.

Very pleased with my tutor. She is very enthusiastic and explains everything I have questions about. As a beginner I feel like I need this kind of support that Lucy is able to give. It' s not easy to learn an instrument as an adult beginner I would recommend my tutor to anybody in the same situation as I am.

Very friendly and patient with a complete beginner (8 year old). Lessons are well adapted to Skype and very informative meaning that progress is already going well even after just a few lessons.

I am so pleased i have found Lucy for Cello lessons, i have now had 3 online lessons with Lucy which i am very pleased with, she teaches in a nice enthusiastic and knowledgeable manor, explaining things clearly so that you understand what she is trying to teach you, giving lots off support when needed.Lucy gives constructive written notes and music at the end off each lesson, which is very helpfull, helping you get the most out off your lessons.I always look forward to my next lesson.

Lucy was very warmly welcoming at my first meeting as an adult beginner. She put me at ease and immediately demonstrated her expertise by taking me through caring for my cello. She was able to inspect my cello and pointed out potential issues, so she is clearly fully trustworthy and knowledgeable. She packs a lot of practice and knowledge into our one-hour lessons and is really encouraging as well as challenging in a positive way. I've also been able to get great advice about cello accessories, services and doing grades and exams without any pressure at all. Lucy even writes notes for your lessons so you can look back on things discussed and put them into your own practice sessions. I'm very glad I found Lucy and recommend her as a very friendly and professional teacher!

Lucy is a great teacher for my son who is learning cello and is currently around Grade 3. He had been learning before but was demotivated and had stopped playing. Under Lucy's tutelage his interest has picked up again and he is now looking forward to his lessons. Lucy is very patient with him and encourages him while also teaching him some of the theory behind the music. Although at an early stage we are very pleased with the way that lessons are going - Lucy seems to be an excellent teacher.
