Tutor Profile

Halima

Private Biology and Chemistry Tutor in Slough

I'm a qualified, passionate tutor specialising in Maths, the Sciences, and Computer Science. Outside of tutoring, I care deeply about helping students not just improve their grades, but build genuine confidence in subjects they may have previously found difficult or intimidating. I believe every student can succeed with the right support, patience, and a teaching style that actually fits how they learn.

Teaching Experience

I have over five years of teaching experience across KS2, KS3, GCSE, and A-Level. At GCSE, I teach Maths, Combined/Triple Science, Computer Science, and English. At A-Level, I teach Physics, Maths, Further Maths, and Computer Science. This range means I can support students continuously as they move between key stages, rather than only helping with a single exam or year group. I also have experience teaching SEND and SEN students, adapting my materials and pace to suit different learning needs.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is flexible and tailored to each individual student rather than a fixed, one size fits all method. I start by understanding where a student is struggling, how they learn best, and what their goals are, then adapt accordingly - whether that means a structured, exam-focused approach with past papers and technique, or a slower, more visual explanation of core concepts for students who need extra support. Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, and plenty of practice, with regular check-ins to make sure understanding is solid before moving on. Above all, I aim to make every student feel supported, challenged at the right level, and confident in their own progress.
