I am Pablo Castro, a qualified native Spanish teacher with over 16 years of international experience. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England, an IB Certificate in Teaching and Learning, and accreditation as a DELE examiner for all levels from A1 to C2, including school-age candidates.

I specialise in structured academic support for secondary and sixth-form students following IB, GCSE/iGCSE and A-Level Spanish, while also supporting AP and DELE candidates. My work is designed for students who need more than conversation practice: a clear plan, precise feedback and consistent guidance towards stronger academic performance. I teach online and work with students from different countries and school systems.

I have taught Spanish in private, institutional and international-school settings since 2010. My experience includes teaching at Instituto Cervantes in Moscow and at international schools including Letovo and Brookes Moscow, where I worked with IB MYP and Diploma Programme students.

I have taught children, teenagers and adults across a wide range of proficiency levels and have extensive experience in one-to-one tuition, curriculum planning, formal assessment and exam preparation. I support students taking IB Spanish ab initio and Spanish B, GCSE/iGCSE, A-Level, AP and DELE. My work as an accredited DELE examiner has given me a detailed understanding of assessment criteria and the language skills students need to demonstrate under exam conditions.

I begin by identifying the student’s curriculum, current level, target grade and the precise areas limiting progress—whether speaking, writing, grammar, comprehension, confidence or exam technique. I then build a focused plan rather than simply adding another general Spanish lesson.

Sessions are linked to the relevant syllabus and assessment criteria. Depending on the student’s needs, we use targeted language practice, model answers, past-paper-style tasks, timed work and detailed correction. I explain not only what needs improving, but how to improve it and apply it independently.

My approach combines clear structure with flexibility. Progress is reviewed regularly, meaningful work is set between sessions when appropriate, and parents can receive concise updates. The aim is steady, measurable progress together with greater confidence and independence. Lessons are delivered online via Zoom.
