Hello, My name is Steven although all my students know me as "Steve". I understand how challenging Mathematics can be at A-level standard to many learners and I will always strive to make the subject as accessible as possible. This may range from simply providing confidence and encouraging you to tackle more challenging questions to enabling you to identify and address key parts of the subject that you may find particularly challenging. The sessions I offer are nominally one hour in duration but may go beyond the hour (at no extra charge) with your approval to enable learning goals to be attained more effectively. During the months preceding your final exams , I offer a free marking and feedback service, which all of my students say has been extremely helpful in improving both exam technique, overall preparedness and boosting their confidence. I greatly look forward to being given the opportunity to support you in your study of Mathematics at advanced level.

Teaching Experience
I am an experienced and successful teacher of Mathematics mainly in the Sixth Form College sector from 1990 until retiring in 2023, then as a tutor from 2023. I have a proven track record in both my teaching career and tutoring since 2023, with all of my OFSTED lesson inspections graded "Outstanding". I offer private tuition to students in A/AS Level Mathematics and A/AS Level Further Mathematics.
Tutoring Approach
My teaching style is very supportive and inclusive based on establishing a rapport with my students in whom I strive to develop confidence in the subject. From the feedback I have received from students, parents and lesson observations, I conclude that students tend to find me approachable, supportive, patient and non-judgemental in my approach.

Steve has been outstanding. He is efficient, focused and completely on the ball. He explains even the most complex maths problems in a clear, logical and accessible way, which really helped my daughter consolidate what she knew and apply it with confidence. Although she has always been strong in maths, her exam results had never quite reflected her ability. Steve’s teaching helped bridge that gap.
