Hi, I'm Richard. I've taught many students, worked across several different industries and generally seem able to get on with pretty much everybody. Despite having taught Maths for a long time, I think I can say I still really enjoy it, especially A-level.

Teaching Experience
I have a PGCE from the University of York and a Maths degree from the University of Durham. I taught in schools for 16 years, 10 of those as Head of Maths. I've taught GCSE and A-level many times, across all exam boards.
Tutoring Approach
I aim to get the student to drive each session and respond to whatever they tell me they need to look at. It's not a problem to go straight into whatever topic (or topics!) have come up that week. If I teach a topic in full, I'll write up a revision flash card for when we see it again. If the student hasn't a clear idea what they need, I'll get them doing exam papers and see what emerges.

Having had several tuition lessons, Richard has guided me through my weakest areas. He allows me to dictate what topic we go through and at what pace. Richard is very flexible and can change what we do within the lesson from going over content to answering exam questions. There is also a drive area, where I can add any questions that I am unsure of and cover these in the lessons. Also in the drive, Richard attaches a post-it note creating a summary of the lesson.I have definitely benefited from only 4/5 lessons having gone from a C to an A grade. Subhaan
