My name is Richard, and I am a current final year PhD student at the University of Cambridge, applying for a PhD in Robotics and AI Engineering. My research has heavy connections to traditional and modern world AI, aiming to capture deeper relations on how we can make robots learn in the same way that humans do. I have a degree in Aerospace, Information and Mechanical Engineering, and I am very passionate about Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science too. I am originally from Brazil, and moved to the UK as a teen to pursue secondary and further education. In my part-time, I love travelling around the world to learn languages and cultures, and love connecting with learners and students world wide to share knowledge and passion for studying.

I have taught students from the ages of 14 to 23 for over 3 years, ranging from A-Level students to University students. I currently supervise Engineering to first, second and third year modules at the University of Cambridge, and have had experience with hundreds of students over this time. I work for multiple tutoring companies, helping with university applications, exam preparation, mock interviews as well as supercurricular learning for talented teenagers and university students.

My main passion is to teach talented and/or very motivated students that strive to push themselves and learn far beyond their standard curriculum. Each student requires a different approach, and I aim to be as flexible as possible to allow for each students needs. For some, I guide them towards a whole interesting curriculum, ranging from advanced computing principles to AI, physics and general Engineering. For others, I let them guide me through exactly they want to learn and pose as a useful guide to answer any hard questions that foundation level tutors or even GenAI cannot answer. I offer hard training for university applications (including Oxbridge), giving advice on self-studying practices, personal statement writing and mock interview techniques. Since I am busy with my PhD and general travels for holiday or conferences, I am only available online unless rare scenarios.
