Hi, I'm Lauren. I'm Head of Law at an Ofsted Outstanding sixth form and have over 11 years' experience teaching A-Level Law. Alongside my teaching role, I have examined for OCR since 2017, giving me valuable insight into how students are assessed and what examiners are looking for.

I tutor exclusively for OCR A-Level Law, so every lesson is closely aligned to the specification, assessment objectives and exam requirements. I work with a small number of students to ensure each one receives personalised support throughout their studies.

Teaching Experience

I have taught the OCR A-Level Law specification since 2015 and currently teach Papers 1, 2 and 4 (Contract Law). Alongside teaching, I examined for OCR for nine years. As Head of Law, I regularly analyse student performance, identify trends in assessment and adapt teaching strategies to improve outcomes. I also keep my subject knowledge up to date through ongoing professional development, examiner training and monitoring changes in the law, ensuring students receive accurate, current and specification-focused support.

Tutoring Approach

Every student starts from a different place, so I tailor sessions to their individual needs and goals. Whether a student needs help understanding the content, improving exam technique or pushing for the highest grades, sessions are planned to make the best use of our time together. We'll usually begin by working through the relevant topic before applying that knowledge to exam-style questions. I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions and take their own notes throughout the lesson. I'll also prepare and share additional notes, model answers and resources afterwards so they have everything they need to continue their revision independently. My aim is that students leave each session with a clearer understanding of the topic, greater confidence and a practical plan for improving their exam performance.
