Teaching Experience
I have 52 years of teaching experience both in piano and Russian teaching. I worked in colleges in the UK and abroad and have been giving private lessons.
Tutoring Approach
From the very first lessons, even before students begin reading music, I introduce both hands and elements of music theory. Naturally, these are adapted to suit each student’s age, level and individual needs. I aim to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in my lessons. Rather than simply explaining everything to my students, I encourage them to ask questions and then work together with me to find the answers. Over many years of teaching, I have found that this approach leads to more meaningful and lasting results. Some of my students are serious and professionally oriented, while others study simply for pleasure. Whatever their goals, I provide a broad and well-rounded musical education tailored to each individual student. All my students have the opportunity to perform in two class concerts each year, held in winter and summer. They also take part in school events, as well as music competitions in Kingston, Richmond and other local areas.

Liudmila is a great tutor who is very patient and easy to learn from. She provides a mixture of teaching tools to give a comprehensive learning experience. She also gives the history and culture of the language in order to contextualise what you are learning. An excellent tutor, I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to learn or improve their Russian language.
