I live in Old Town, Swindon and have been a self employed maths tutor for the last 10 years.

Before becoming a self employed maths tutor, I worked at Swindon College for 16 years in many roles. I worked in learning support, maths teaching and maths tutoring. During this time I have worked with students who have many different barriers to understanding maths. I have also attended specialist courses in teaching students with maths difficulties

I find that as well as tutoring I am learning all the time from my students. Trying out different ways to help them solve maths problems. I like to teach face to face, as it’s then much easier to see when they are struggling and understand where the problem lies. I can also work with different resources and games which can help demonstrate concepts
