I’m a 25-year-old Irish teacher. I studied World Languages at UCC and have over three years of experience giving grinds. I currently live and work in a French school in an attempt to immerse myself even further in French. I love helping students discover an interest in languages and, most importantly, gain confidence in using them.

I have over three years of experience giving grinds, as well as two years of teaching experience in a formal school setting. I regularly work with students outside school hours and have helped students prepare for both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate exams, with a particular focus on oral exams. I find it very rewarding to receive very positive feedback from students and parents each year.

My approach is practical, interactive and tailored to each student’s needs. For exam preparation, I focus on past papers and work backwards to identify what students are likely to be asked. The foundations of the language, such as vocabulary and grammar, are built on weekly. Students can expect to be regularly asked questions on these to ensure they build a solid base! I place particular emphasis on oral practice, helping students overcome the fear of speaking and develop a genuine grá for the language. H1-standard notes are provided. I use Google Meet, Google Docs, email and WhatsApp. Lessons can be weekly, occasional or simply a once-off session, depending on what works best for you.
