Tutor Profile

Noemi

Private Maths and Spanish Tutor in London

I am a Spanish native speaker, experienced tutor and healthcare professional with a background in pharmacy and public health. I have always loved learning, but even more than that, I love seeing the moment when a student finally understands something they previously thought was too difficult for them.

Teaching has been part of my life for more than 15 years. Alongside my professional career in healthcare, I have continued tutoring because I genuinely enjoy working with children and young people and being part of their academic progress.

I am naturally friendly, patient and positive, but I also believe in encouraging students to challenge themselves. For me, tutoring is not only about improving a grade. It is about helping a young person become more confident and realise, "Actually, I can do this.”

Teaching Experience

In Maths, I support Primary, 11+, Secondary and GCSE students. I have worked with children who need to strengthen their foundations, students who have lost confidence in Maths, and those who are aiming for higher grades and need more challenging exam preparation.

As a native Spanish speaker, I teach Spanish from Primary level through to GCSE, A-Level, International A-Level, IB and DELE, as well as adult learners. I can provide support across all four skills — Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing — and particularly enjoy helping students become more natural and confident when speaking Spanish.

Over the years, I have supported students attending schools including Instituto Español Vicente Cañada Blanch, St Charles College, Belmont Primary School, Bevington Primary School, Fulham Boys School and St Paul's Girls' School, among others.

My background as a Pharmacist specialising in Public Health also gives me a strong academic foundation in Maths, Biology and Science and has taught me to explain complex ideas in a clear and structured way.

Tutoring Approach

My starting point is always the student, not the textbook.

Every child learns differently. Some students understand a concept immediately but need help applying it to exam questions. Others need things explained in a completely different way before everything suddenly clicks. And sometimes the biggest obstacle is not ability at all — it is simply confidence.

That is why I don't believe in giving exactly the same lesson to every student. I first identify what they understand, where the gaps are and what they want to achieve. From there, I create lessons around their individual needs, using clear explanations, practical examples, targeted exercises and exam-style questions when appropriate.

I also want my lessons to feel like a safe and positive space to make mistakes and ask questions. A student should never be embarrassed to say, “I don't understand.” Very often, that question is exactly where real learning begins.

For exam students, we work strategically on weaker areas, exam technique and confidence under pressure. For younger students, I try to make lessons engaging and accessible while building strong foundations for the future.

Ultimately, I want my students to leave each lesson understanding a little more, worrying a little less and believing in themselves a little more.

That, for me, is successful tutoring.

Noemi has started tutoring my Daughter in maths (she is in Year 4) in the last month and already we are seeing a positive difference in her attitude and confidence. Noemi is engaging her well and making the numbers relevant for her and easier to resonate with. We are very pleased with how things have started and feel optimistic about how Noemi’s sessions will help our Daughter in the longer term.

Tutor response
