Hi, I’m Lauren, an experienced and friendly English tutor with a genuine passion for helping students grow in confidence and achieve their goals. I have over 10 years of teaching experience across schools, universities and adult education, and I love making English feel accessible, engaging and enjoyable for every learner. I currently tutor GCSE English Literature and Language, and can also support students with A Level English and Functional Skills English. Whether a student wants to improve exam technique, build confidence in reading and writing, or simply feel less overwhelmed by English, I aim to create a calm, supportive space where they feel comfortable to learn and ask questions. My approach is patient, encouraging and tailored to each individual, because I know that every student learns differently.

I’ve spent over 10 years teaching English to a wide range of students of different ages, backgrounds and ability levels. My experience includes working in universities, international education and adult learning, where I’ve taught everything from academic writing and reading skills to spoken communication and exam preparation. Alongside this, I currently tutor GCSE English Literature and Language, as well as A Level and Functional Skills English.

Working with so many different learners has helped me develop a flexible and supportive teaching style, and I always aim to adapt lessons to suit each student’s confidence level, goals and way of learning. I believe English shouldn’t feel intimidating, so I focus on creating lessons that are clear, engaging and approachable.
