Tutor Profile

Clint

Private PE / Sport Science and Psychology Tutor in Bracknell

I’m an experienced teacher, tutor and performance coach with nearly 20 years of experience in education. I specialise in A-Level Psychology and Sports Science, with a particular interest in helping students understand how theory can be applied to real-life situations and sporting performance.

Alongside my teaching experience, I have a strong background in sport, exercise and physical performance and am a qualified Personal Trainer. This allows me to bring together academic knowledge with practical experience, particularly when tutoring students studying Sports Science or related subjects.

I’m approachable, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoy helping students make progress. I believe good tutoring should not simply be about getting through the syllabus, but about helping students develop confidence, understand what they are learning and recognise what they are capable of achieving.

Teaching Experience

I have taught Psychology extensively across secondary and post-16 education during a career spanning almost 20 years. I have considerable experience preparing students for A-Level examinations and supporting students with different abilities, learning styles and levels of confidence.

I have also worked as a Senior Examiner, giving me an in-depth understanding of how examination answers are assessed and what separates an average response from a high-level one. This experience is particularly valuable when helping students with application, evaluation, analysis, essay structure and extended-response questions.

Alongside Psychology, I have experience in Sports Science, sport and exercise, physical performance and strength and conditioning. My combination of teaching, examining and practical sporting experience allows me to offer students both academic guidance and real-world context.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is supportive, personalised and focused on progress. I recognise that every student is different, so I adapt sessions according to their individual strengths, weaknesses, learning style and goals. Some students may need to build confidence and secure their knowledge, while others may need greater challenge and more advanced exam practice.

For Psychology in particular, I focus on helping students move beyond simply memorising content. I teach them how to apply their knowledge, develop effective evaluation, construct strong arguments and answer questions in the way examiners are looking for. My experience as a Senior Examiner allows me to give students a clear understanding of what makes an effective examination response.

I aim for lessons to be relaxed and engaging while still being purposeful. Whether a student needs ongoing support, help with a particular topic, exam preparation or a structured programme to improve their grade, I tailor the tuition around what will make the biggest difference to them.
