Hi! I’m Teresa, a native Spanish speaker and qualified Spanish and French teacher with experience teaching students of different ages and levels.

I’m passionate about languages and I’ve always enjoyed both learning and teaching them. As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges that come with learning a new language and how important it is to feel comfortable making mistakes and practising.

I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I aim to make my lessons relaxed and enjoyable.

I have several years of teaching experience, having worked as a qualified Spanish and French teacher in secondary schools in the UK. I have taught Spanish from beginner to advanced levels, including KS3, GCSE and A-level, as well as French at KS3. I have experience preparing students for both AQA and Pearson examinations, supporting students with different abilities and learning needs, and adapting my teaching to suit individual students. Alongside my school teaching experience, I have also provided one-to-one language tuition, helping learners develop their grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation skills and confidence.

My approach to tutoring is relaxed and supportive to each student. I believe that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit the student’s level, goals and preferred way of learning. I place a strong focus on building a solid understanding of grammar and vocabulary while also giving students plenty of opportunities to practise speaking and develop their confidence. I encourage students to ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace, creating a friendly environment where they feel comfortable using Spanish from the very beginning.
