²Hi, Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a fully qualified primary/secondary teacher. I have worked as a classroom teacher and also as a tutor for over 25 years, teaching English lang/lit and maths KS 2 to KS 4. I have 2 adult sons , both attended state schools and then University. I saw at first hand how important it is for every pupil to have a positive and supportive education. I have also taught piano lessons for children studying ABRSM exams and KS3 /4, GCSE music. I look forward to helping new students and supporting them to achieve their goals.

My teaching was initially in primary schools Y3 to Y6, working towards SATs and then tuition from Y3 to Y11 ,GCSE English both Language and Literature, and GCSE Maths .

I have also worked with many students who are considered to have dyslexia and I have helped pupils who were failing at school because no one had the time to diagnose their dyslexia. Attending dyslexia courses and up to date reading and writing courses, has enabled me to implement current educational methods to address these challenges. It has been a pleasure to watch my tutees achieve success when I personalise their tuition and implement strategies that address their difficutlies . Students with mild autism and ADHD have also been my students. It has been a privilege to support them ,and help them to achieve some of their academic goals.

During lockdown I worked online with students all over the world, from China, Abu Dhabi, Kenya, Spain, France, Netherlands and all over the UK, with GCSE studies in English Language/ Literature and Maths This was both exciting and challenging and enabled me to develop many strategies and plans to make the lessons engaging and interactive.

Always personalising lessons for my students, I support them to work towards SATs and GCSE examinations. I am also determined to help them to enjoy English and Maths as subjects that are so important for their adult life , as well as to achieve academic standards. I also have students who are home schooled. It is a great pleasure to support their parents and other tutors who work so hard to give their children an all round education. I then work as part of their team.
