I am a friendly, experienced and highly qualified tutor with a background that combines education, photography, creativity and personal development. I am originally from the beautiful island of Crete and have been living in England for over 20 years. I hold a PhD in Art and Communication, with Photography as my field of specialism, a PGCE teaching certificate in Post-Compulsory Education, and a Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I am also an accredited Life Coach, an experience which naturally informs my teaching and helps me support students with confidence, motivation and achieving their individual goals. Having lived in both Greece and England for many years, I have an excellent command of both Greek and English and understand very well the differences between the two languages. I can therefore explain Greek clearly and practically to English-speaking learners, while my academic and professional background in photography and the arts gives me a strong foundation for teaching photography and creativity. I am also a practising photographic artist with a particular interest in abstract photography. My photographic practice, academic research and teaching are closely connected, and I bring both practical experience and a strong understanding of contemporary photography to my work with students.
