Tutor Profile

Antons

Private Computer Science and Maths Tutor in Brighton

Hi, I'm Anton! I'm currently doing a PhD in quantum computing at the University of Sussex, with a first-class degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Outside of my research, I've spent a few years tutoring and mentoring students, and it's something I genuinely enjoy.

Teaching Experience

I've worked as a Doctoral Tutor in Mathematics, leading classes of 20+ first-year university students and giving one-on-one help where needed. Before that, I was a Peer Assisted Learning tutor for two years, supporting Engineering and Informatics students with coursework and coding. I'm comfortable teaching GCSE/A-level Maths and Further Maths, plus introductory university-level Computer Science and programming.

Tutoring Approach

I like to slow down and make sure a topic actually makes sense, not just memorised for the next test. I'll check in on the "why" behind a method, since that's usually what makes things click and stops a subject from feeling like a slog. I'm patient, easy to talk to, and happy to go over something as many times as it takes.
