Hi, I’m Evie. I’m an experienced private tutor with over 9 years of teaching experience and more than 5,500 hours of one-to-one tutoring.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from University College London (UCL), which I completed in 2018, and my professional background combines education, psychology and child and adolescent mental health.
Earlier in my career, I worked within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) as an Assistant Psychologist, supporting the assessment and diagnosis of young people with ASD and ADHD. I also worked as a mentor, supporting young people with confidence, anxiety management, healthy coping strategies, school and university transitions, and building resilience.
These experiences have shaped the way I work with students today. I understand that every young person learns differently and that academic progress is not always simply about knowledge. Confidence, motivation, self-belief and feeling understood can have a significant impact on a student's ability to learn and perform at their best.
I have a genuine passion for education and for helping young people recognise their own potential. I particularly enjoy seeing students develop from feeling unsure or lacking confidence into independent learners who approach their work with greater confidence and enthusiasm.
I am friendly, approachable and patient, and I place a strong emphasis on building positive relationships with my students. I want every student I teach to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves in a supportive environment.
