With over 18 years of tutoring experience, I have successfully helped 99% of my students achieve remarkable improvements, with many jumping between 2 and 5 grades. My approach is supported by verified testimonials from students and parents, reflecting my consistent success in helping learners excel in their academic pursuits.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND: PhD in Image Processing/Computer Vision – UCL MSc in Computing Science – Imperial College London BSc in Physics (First Class Honours) – Imperial College London 4 A-levels (all A*s equivalent: Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Urdu) Outstanding student of the year award at Levels from my school Ellen Wilkinson High school, London.

PhD project- Devised an objective method with 80% success rate for the assessment of the severity of the skin disease psoriasis using image processing techniques for the quantification of the tortuosity of blood capillaries on dye-injected capillary images in collaboration with St. Georges hospital, Tooting. Research project completed successfully; formal thesis submission not finalised due to significant professional and family commitments at the time.

Passion for Teaching: My journey into teaching began while teaching undergraduate students during my PhD. Having tutored for the past 18 years, I've learned that every student has the potential to succeed with the right guidance. I believe in creating tailored lessons that align with each student's unique learning style and needs, helping them develop both confidence and a genuine love for learning.

Teaching Experience

With 18+ years experience, I have helped 99% of my students improve by 2–5 grades and secure places at leading independent schools and top universities. I teach students from both the state and independent sectors, (national and international) including those attending schools such as Eton College, Westminster School, St Paul's School, The Perse School, Cheltenham Ladies' College and King's College Cambridge, amongst others.

I specialise in Maths and Science tuition from KS3 through to A-Level, including GCSE, IGCSE, 13+ scholarship, 16+ and entrance exam preparation for elite independent schools. My teaching focuses not only on achieving top grades, but also on developing intellectual confidence, mathematical intuition, and genuine enjoyment of learning. Verified testimonials from parents and students are available.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is built around one core principle: every student learns differently, and the right teaching approach can dramatically accelerate progress. Over the past 18 years, this philosophy has consistently helped students meet and often exceed their academic ambitions, with many reporting substantial improvement in school performance within just 3–4 weeks.

I place strong emphasis on understanding both the academic strengths and the personality of each student so lessons can be adapted to suit their individual learning style.

Some students require structure and close guidance, while others are highly independent but need direction and refinement. Some learn best visually, others through discussion and explanation. By tailoring lessons carefully to the individual, students gain confidence quickly and are encouraged to ask questions freely in a relaxed, engaging and highly interactive learning environment.

My approach is summarised in 4 steps:

  1. Diagnostic & Personalised Planning I begin with a diagnostic session designed to identify precisely where understanding is secure and where the gaps lie. Recent school assessments and mock papers are also reviewed allowing me to create a personalised learning plan that prioritises topics by urgency and maps a clear route towards exam success.
  2. Building Strong Foundations I strongly believe that exam technique without genuine understanding has very limited value. First focus is on mastering concepts from first principles using worked examples, diagrams, analogy and interactive discussion until understanding is genuinely secure. Relevant topic-based homework is set throughout the course to consolidate learning, including both drill questions and exam-standard problems.
  3. Developing Exam Technique & Independent Performance We then move onto structured exam-style practice designed to develop speed, accuracy and independence under pressure. Students learn exactly how mark schemes work including command words, answer structure and the precise language examiners reward. Timed past paper practice becomes increasingly important as exams approach, every mistake analysed carefully so revision remains highly targeted and efficient.
  4. Final Revision, Retrieval & Exam Readiness In the final weeks before the exam, lessons become increasingly retrieval-based, with mixed-topic questioning designed to strengthen long-term memory, adaptability and confidence under exam conditions. By exam day, students are not only academically prepared, but also mentally equipped to think clearly, adapt quickly and perform confidently under pressure.

Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations; otherwise, the full lesson fee will apply, as the allocated time cannot usually be reassigned at short notice.
