1ST CLASS LAW GRADUATION WITH 2 YEARS OF TUTORING EXPERIENCE

Hello! I'm Issey Pastor, a Law graduate from the University of Manchester and a Civil Servant with a strong passion for education, literature, and the law.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed a deep appreciation for the value of clear communication, critical thinking, and effective study skills. Having successfully navigated the challenges of university and professional life, I understand that every student learns differently and may require tailored support to achieve their goals.

As a tutor, I focus on building both academic achievement and confidence. My lessons are structured, engaging, and personalised to each student's needs, helping them develop a deeper understanding of their subject while equipping them with the skills required for long-term success. Whether supporting younger learners, GCSE students, or university applicants, I am committed to creating a positive learning experience that enables students to fulfil their potential and feel confident in their abilities.

Teaching Experience

My passion for education began whilst travelling in South America, where I had the rewarding opportunity to teach English to both children in schools and adult learners through one-to-one lessons. This experience sparked a lasting interest in helping students build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their academic goals.

Since then, I have worked as a private tutor supporting students across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, including learners with additional educational needs such as ADHD and dyslexia. I also provide GCSE English tuition, helping students strengthen their analytical, writing, and exam technique skills, as well as offering academic support and application guidance to university applicants.

Working with students of different ages, abilities, and learning styles has enabled me to develop a flexible, personalised approach to tutoring, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed.

Tutoring Approach

As someone who has personally navigated the challenges of ADHD, I understand that every student learns differently. I know how frustrating it can be to feel disengaged, overwhelmed, or unsupported in the classroom, which is why I place a strong emphasis on creating a learning environment where students feel confident, understood, and motivated.

I believe there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to education. Every student has their own strengths, challenges, and preferred learning style, so I take the time to understand how each individual learns best. By identifying areas of confidence as well as areas for improvement, I can tailor lessons to suit the student's needs and help them make consistent progress.

My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students develop confidence in their own abilities. Through patience, encouragement, and personalised teaching strategies, I strive to keep lessons engaging, build strong subject knowledge, and enable students to reach their full potential.
