I'm a teacher and education consultant with over twenty years' experience, based in Dorset and Somerset, and working both face-to-face and online. Whilst I have spent the majority of my career teaching academic music up to A Level, with the last 7 years in the role of Director of Music and Performing Arts in a large prep school, my experience in teaching has enabled me to cover a wide range of core subjects.

My career has been built around understanding the whole child - how they learn and how best to develop a true understanding of each topic. That perspective comes from years of classroom teaching, leading a department, working closely with Learning Support teams, and raising three children of my own.

I build every session around how your child learns, not around a fixed scheme. My extensive teaching experience has taught me the value of getting to know children as individuals from the very start: their strengths, their worries and what makes them curious. My teaching builds secure foundations, boosts confidence and makes learning enjoyable.

I celebrate effort as well as results, because children learn best when they are encouraged to try, make mistakes and try again.

I keep parents informed about progress, and I adapt my pace and methods as your child grows.

My aim is for pupils to leave each lesson feeling capable, and to carry that confidence back into the classroom.
