STEM & 11+ Tutor (In-Person & Online) | Durham 1st Class Honours (Physics & CS)

Hi,

I’m a private tutor looking to take on students either in-person or online for the 26/27 academic year.

Whether your child is sitting the 11+, aiming for top GCSE grades, or pushing for an A* in A-Level Physics or Maths, I offer targeted, highly engaging 1-on-1 tuition tailored to their specific exam board.

Academic Background & Qualifications: • 1st Class Dual Honours Degree in Physics & Computer Science from Durham University • Top-Tier High School Background: 3 A*s at A-Level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics) & Straight 9s at GCSE in core subjects. • Enhanced DBS Checked & Full UK Driving Licence (for in-person visits) • 100% 5-Star Reviews across extensive online & private tuition

Subjects Offered & Hourly Rates: • GCSE: Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology & CS — £40/hr • A-Level: Maths, Further Maths, Physics & CS — £45/hr • 11+ Prep: Maths, Numerical & Non-Verbal Reasoning — £50–£55/hr • Admissions Prep: PAT, MAT, TMUA & STEM Interview Coaching — £70/hr

Interactive Workflow (In-Person & Online): Whether in-person or remote, I use a dedicated digital whiteboard setup. Students get instant, permanent access to all collaborative notes through Google Drive, worked step-by-step examples, and past-paper/practice question marking between sessions.

Risk-Free First Consultation: I offer a risk-free initial session to review predicted grades, set up their digital workspace, and run through a targeted topic. You only pay for the session if you are 100% happy to move forward with regular weekly slots.

Extensive work tutoring both on the platforms FirstTutors (now defunct), MyTutor and privately, online and in person. My first class university degree from a top university allows me to explain concepts holistically and given that I sat my A-Levels in 2023 I have a good understanding of what it's like to be a student and how difficult it can be to understand the topics without dedicated help.

I focus heavily on explanations as many students find that their teachers gloss over explanations in order to be able to fit in the entire spec within the time period until their examinations. I make teaching as engaging as possible and tend to mix explaining content with practice so the content is covered from all angles and the student is provided with the best possible chance at succeeding.
