Hi, I'm a parent who has been through the 11+ journey with my own children, so I know how much there is to learn and how overwhelming it can sometimes feel, especially when you're not quite sure where to start.
Having spent a lot of time helping my own children prepare for their 11+ exams, I've become very familiar with the Maths and English topics that come up, the types of questions children often struggle with and the importance of building a strong foundation early.
What I've learnt along the way is that every child is different. Some pick things up quickly, while others need a bit more time or a different explanation before something clicks. I've found that being patient, breaking things down into simple steps and making learning feel less like a chore can make a real difference.
I particularly enjoy helping children work through tricky Maths problems, improve their reading comprehension and develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions. There's something really satisfying about seeing a child who was struggling with a question suddenly figure it out for themselves.
I also volunteer with Action Tutoring, a charity that supports children who need extra help with their learning. It's given me the opportunity to work with other pupils and understand how important encouragement and individual attention can be.
I mainly focus on children in Years 4 and 5 who are preparing for the 11+, whether they're just starting out or already working through practice questions and looking to improve.
Having been through the process as a parent, I understand that the 11+ can sometimes feel like a lot of pressure. My aim is to help children prepare properly, build their confidence and make steady progress, while keeping learning as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
