Clare

Hi, I'm Clare, a fully qualified teacher. I live in the North East of England, in a small port town called Blyth. I went to university straight from school to do a Maths degree. Following this I did various jobs before taking voluntary redundancy in 2012 to train as a teacher.

Teaching Experience

I trained as a teacher in 2012/2013 and did classroom teaching for 4 years. I started doing tutoring in my spare time and found I enjoyed it more than teaching in a classroom, so in 2016 I decided to become a full-time tutor. My work is all online. I have tutored all ages from school Yr 4 to Yr 13. Over the years I have also worked with adult learners wanting to achieve their maths qualifications.

Tutoring Approach

I have a flexible approach to teaching, due to the diverse needs of each student. Some student have a very clear idea of what they want help with, others are not so sure. I have an interactive website that allows students to work on their maths at any time. I encourage all students to do some independent work between lessons. The interactive website allows for every student to have their own personalised learning plan, so they know exactly what to work on next.
