We couldn't be happier with the tutoring our son received from Clare. He came to her lacking confidence in English Literature, but her lessons made a real difference — particularly in how he approaches structuring his answers. Clare has a brilliant way of breaking down plays and texts into manageable sections, making even the more complex works feel accessible. She introduced him to a range of writing techniques that he was able to apply directly in his GCSE exams, and we genuinely believe her guidance was reflected in his results. What stood out most was how she tailored each session to where he was struggling, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. He left every lesson with more clarity and, just as importantly, more confidence. We'd highly recommend Clare to any parent looking for an English Literature tutor who really knows her subject and knows how to get the best out of her students.

Clare had been tutoring my girl at the highest standard with great professionalism on 11+ English for one year. My daughter loved and enjoyed her lessons. She was well prepared for the lesson and gave additional worksheets and homework which were really helpful. Beyond 11+, Clare always encouraged and inspired my girl to combine her music feeling and other knowledge into writings. With her help my girl was able to prepare for all her examinations and succeed in her 11+ applications, received offers from two of our targeting schools SPGS and LEH. We highly recommend Clare to anyone seeking 11+ English tuition.

Dear Helen (Olivia Hai), As I explained in detail after the trial class with your son, who has recently moved from China, he is still learning how to speak English and to make sounds such as 'all' and 'wall', which are difficult for him as a Mandarin speaker. Please note that a first class is also an assessment from my perspective. I have therefore advised, as you agreed, that he should continue to work closely on his school exercises and the system that he has been given by his teachers, and with a tutor who specialises in very young children (5 years old) who are learning to speak, read and write a foreign language. Your son needs these foundations first. I spent the hour assessing his phonetic, reading and speaking ability, and we looked at a Dr Seuss book, which I recommended for its humorous and thorough approach to reading exercises, through rhyme and repetition. I wish him every success in the future.
My son started English tuition with Clare about a month ago. He is very happy with her way of teaching, the communication is great and she is very flexible with tuition dates and timings. I do recommend her.
