Tutoring Approach

My tutoring is focused, supportive, and carefully tailored to the student. I work with learners to identify the areas they feel need attention and also where their weaknesses are through assessment. I then guide them to develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed in exams. I am also able to support students with timings for exams if this is an area of confusion.

My approach is patient, clear, and structured, breaking difficult material into manageable bites and teaching practical methods students can use confidently in essays and exam conditions. The goal is not only to improve subject knowledge but to help students apply that knowledge effectively under exam conditions and understand what examiners expect from the question.

I have experience supporting students with additional educational needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, and autism, and hold qualifications that inform my pedagogy and the support I provide for students with SEND.

I have extensive experience helping students prepare for exams, with many progressing to A and A* grades. The first meeting aims to establish rapport, identify strengths and weaknesses, and determine the appropriate pace. From there, a structured plan of action is drawn up to meet the student’s individual goals.
