My name is Jalil (Jay) and I have been a teacher of science for over 15 years with a wealth of experience tutoring both GCSE and A-Level students.

I have worked in comprehensive schools for over 15 years and currently work in a secondary school in West Yorkshire. I have tutored students of a wide range of abilities allowing them to be successful in their GCSEs, as well as at A-Level.

I have experience of teaching students completing a variety of exam boards at GCSE and A-Level and also work as an examiner for Edexcel and AQA allowing me to understand the demands needed to ensure your child achieves the aspirational grades you target.

As all of my previous tutees will vouch, I am able to quickly build positive relationships with my students allowing them to become comfortable in their learning and maximising their progress in lessons. My teaching style is ensuring the tutee is confident in the aims of the lesson (specification), followed by engaging questioning that allows the student to demonstrate their understanding of the content. From this gaps will be closed to ensure progress is made. Finally, the tutee will be assessed with exam questions that are tailored to the specific exam board.
