Tutor Profile

Ade

Ade

I am a fully qualified teacher of Mathematics, a deputy curriculum leader in an inner London school, co-leading the mathematics department. Having achieved MSc in Education, specializing in special educational needs, I have been able to support students with different educational needs, within the classroom settings. Also, as part of my role as the deputy curriculum leader, I have worked with different groups of students, including low prior attainers, underachieving high prior attainers and students from different cultural backgrounds that are underachieving, to raise their standard.

Teaching Experience

I have: Over 13 years of teaching in an inner London school, teaching students from different backgrounds and of different range of abilities. Over ten years of been a deputy Curriculum leader, co-leading my faculty with the curriculum leader. Over 15 years of tutoring, supporting students of different abilities to achieve their desired grade. Over 8 years of been an Edexcel examiner, moderating GCSE Maths papers.

Tutoring Approach

I usually adopt a balance of both teacher-led and student-led approaches to teaching, depending on the student and the stage of learning that we are in. In most cases, I adopt the student-led approach, guiding my students to investigate and discover new mathematical concepts, using both visual representation and hands on resources to build confidence.
