Hello, I am Dr Andrew, a specialist full-time tutor and graduate in Chemistry from both Oxford and Cambridge universities. I have helped over 200 students improve their test scores and confidence at A-level, International A-level and GCSE/iGCSE, including many who needed the top grades for their university course or further study.

The majority of my GCSE students, over 80%, improve by two or more grades from their most recent mock exam and my A-level students all improve by at least one grade, with most going on to achieve A or A* grades at A-level and enter their first choice university. More importantly, they feel much more at ease with their Chemistry, which is the reason why I have tutored some of them from GCSE right through to the final A-level exam.

I have tutored students at GCSE and A-level for nine years, but first began tutoring students a decade earlier while studying for my doctorate at the University of Cambridge. During my time there, I taught courses in biophysical and biological chemistry and worked as an examiner for two exam seasons with Cambridge Assessment.

Since 2017, I've instructed students in the UK and around the world, including over 2,000 hours of online tuition. Each year, I have around thirty students who are trying to improve their grades including those retaking their exams. These students are all looking to improve their own study abilities, depth of knowledge, and exam approach beyond what they learned in school.

I offer friendly, insightful support to students who need it for the whole of the academic year in addition to those who are preparing for exams or resits. I work with the student to identify areas where they can make the biggest improvements and prepare for each tutorial in advance.

Because the majority of my students are online, I subscribe to the best interactive whiteboard in the business and also have created study materials for both local and online tutorials.

A typical tutorial will focus on developing the skills and deeper understanding underlying a particular topic, followed by guided practice on exam questions. I also provide advice to help you develop the independent study skills required for the top A-level grades and for future success at university.
