Tutor Profile

Harrison

Harrison

Hi! I’m Harrison, a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from Loughborough University. I’m friendly, approachable, and passionate about helping students build confidence in maths and physics. I like to keep lessons engaging and enjoyable while making sure learning and understanding always come first.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy working out and playing squash, and I love getting to know the students I work with so lessons feel comfortable and relaxed as well as productive!

Teaching Experience

Although I’m still building my formal tutoring experience, I’ve really enjoyed helping my younger cousin with maths and physics, and it made me realise how much I genuinely enjoy teaching. What I may lack in experience, I make up for with enthusiasm, patience, and a real passion for helping students learn and grow in confidence.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring focuses on helping students truly understand the process behind answering questions, rather than just memorising methods. I usually begin by explaining the core concept clearly, then work through easier questions while emphasising the key principles involved. Once the student is comfortable, we gradually apply those same ideas to more challenging problems.

I also make sure the student is actively involved in solving the questions themselves, while I guide and support them where needed. This helps build confidence, independence, and a much deeper understanding of the topic.
