I am an Irish traditional musician and experienced educator offering tuition in flute and tin whistle, with a background spanning performance, classroom teaching, and arts administration.

I graduated from Newcastle University with First Class Honours in Folk and Traditional Music, including an Erasmus year at the University of Limerick. I have also been awarded numerous Fleadh medals with Comhaltas at All Britain and All Ireland level.

Throughout my career, I have worked as a pub session musician, classroom music teacher, and English teacher abroad, as well as in teaching and administrative roles at Music House Education. My performance appearances include Bush Hall, the Sage Gateshead, and the Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms).

I have over 13 years of teaching experience across a wide range of settings, delivering engaging and inclusive learning both in person and online. My teaching background spans schools, community programmes and private 1-to-1 tuition, allowing me to adapt my approach to learners of all ages and abilities.

I have taught extensively in nurseries and primary schools, as well as secondary school teaching abroad. Lessons can be delivered for enjoyment, Fleadh preparation or LCM Irish traditional music grades.

Using my expertise, I have also contributed to curriculum development and adaptation within primary school and early years settings across London, tailoring sessions to meet the needs of a range of pupils.

I tailor lesson plans to each individual student, teaching techniques and tunes that are carefully sourced and suited to differing levels of ability.

Lessons can be taught either by ear or by notation, or a mixture of both to suit the student. With patience and encouragement, lessons will always be taken at the pace of the student to ensure that the learning experience is as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.
