Hello. I am a very experienced tutor, retired Head of English and current examiner/ moderator for three Boards. I enjoy working with tutees because they are all interesting and unique. Tutoring and examining/ moderating go hand in hand to keep me absolutely up to date with all the latest developments.

I have taught in both state and independent schools working with the whole range of abilities. As a previous Head of English at an academic independent school, in Guildford, I am used to ensuring that each student achieves their best possible grades. In addition, working to help tutees gain that invaluable Grade 4 to help them move on has been equally rewarding.

You or your daughter or son are probably anxious because of feeling confused by the demands of the syllabi, by having had a blip in teaching or health - or believing that English is not your best subject! We can certainly change this. I can support you on any GCSE/iGCSE English and English Literature courses, any A -level English Literature course and help with UCAS personal statements. I work with only five tutees at a time to ensure that you receive individual attention throughout the oourse. I keep records and provide half-termly updates.
