Teaching Experience
I am a fully qualified economics teacher from the Institute of Education (IOE). All my tutees perform well above their targets, an achievement that I am particularly happy about. I aim to instil my passion for economics and business studies in students while preparing them for the very important exams, looking at both the contents and the exam practice. Having been exposed to economics since the age of 16, I have developed not just an enormous knowledge of the subject, but familiarised myself with different exam boards and developped a great understanding of what examiners seek if students are to achieve the top-level marks.
Tutoring Approach
One-to-one interactive lessons, a very applied approach with tasks and activities. My sessions involve filling students' gaps in content knowledge and getting them prepared for those very important exams. Being a full-time teacher makes me a better tutor than many who claim to have had years of experience working in the city (industry) as these are two different areas where economics is differently applied.

He is very skilled at explaining concepts through using examples for easier understanding or difficult concepts. A interactive approach to understand the learner's needs and to understand where there is a knowledge gap in the learners economic topics. I've had 2 lessons with him, one 1 hour and one 2 hour session. In the 1 hour session he covered topics which I was less familiar with and explained the key concepts and differentiated the difference between a top-scoring candidate and a average candidate. The second lesson was mainly on exam technique and ways to approach a question, provided valuable insight on how to tackle questions and key evaluation points and uses of different economic policies towards topics. I'm looking forward to another lesson with Sylvain in which he will be able to give me practical feedback on my essay writing.

Sylvain has been teaching my son A'level Economics for the past 5 weeks and his excellent approach to teaching has made him understand the subject more.
