Hi there! My name is Nicolette and I am a piano teacher. I am originally from Canada where I grew up and learned piano, music theory, and music history through the Royal Conservatory of Music. I was fortunate enough to be able to instruct music with a private studio while I completed my higher education and I fell in love with teaching. I currently teach in a yoga studio, as well as holding online classes for learners of English as a foreign language. I have over a decade of teaching experience both in the UK I look forward to meeting you!

I have been formally learning piano, music theory, and music history for 24 years. I have completed a number of examinations through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada, with my highest level certification being Grade 9 Practical Piano with distinction.

I have taught piano and music theory since 2015. I have guided children as young as 4 years old through the Music for Young Children (MYC) program, and worked with older teens and young adults as they prepared for practical and theoretical exams with both the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and the ABRSM here in the UK. I have also privately tutored older adults on a more informal basis.

I believe if you're passionate and curious about the subject, you'll be able to succeed. I encourage students to take an interest and a degree of independence in their music education which allows me to take a more hands-off approach. I also like to include not only the practical aspects of piano but music theory and historical background for the composers and their pieces. With a well-rounded approach I hope to provide the ideal environment for you to reach your musical goals!

NOTE: Lesson fees and lengths vary depending on student grade and age but will generally cost £80-100 per calendar month.
