Nick is by far the best tutor my son has ever had, and he has worked with many tutors over the years in various subjects. In just a short period of time, Nick has helped him feel genuinely more confident in English. My son is truly happy to have extra lessons and actually looks forward to his sessions with Nick, which says everything about the quality of his teaching.

Nick is an engaging, interactive and attentive tutor. My daughter loves him. He is tutoring her on English GCSE and has already made her feel more confident and knowledgeable after a few sessions. Nick has done an amazing job at reigniting my son's interest in English after some disappointing mock grades and poor teaching at school resulted in him losing confidence and largely switching off. Nick has an infectious love for the subject matter and a very interactive, engaging style. He clearly identifies areas for improvement and is good at building them into strengths and he is always willing to mark additional work and provide more feedback. After a few sessions with Nick, my son who often needs lots of nudging to get school homework fully completed, has completely changed his attitude and has asked to increase the frequency of sessions with Nick. It couldn't have worked out better for us.

Nick is undoubtedly passionate about teaching and drawing the best out of the student and that's what makes Nick an all-round excellent and dedicated tutor! After getting minimal support from school, I contacted Nick to help my daughter with her university applications. Nick was very quick to respond to my emails, which meant that the coaching sessions could start immediately. Nick is an excellent and experienced tutor who knew exactly how to help my daughter organise the content and thoughts in her draft personal statement in a structured and cohesive manner, and draw the very best out of her. Nick was also very reassuring as my daughter had been getting quite anxious about her applications. At the end of 3-4 sessions, she was pleased with her final draft as she felt it communicated everything she had wanted to put down without compromising on her "personal voice". My daughter is also impressed by how knowledgeable, well-read and intelligent Nick is, and she really enjoyed engaging with Nick (he also makes her laugh- great for her nerves!) during their sessions. Nick has built a quick and easy rapport with my son and after only a few sessions I have noticed my son grow in confidence and begin to enjoy English more. He challenges my son to think deeply but does so in a supportive manner which in turn is helping him to form his own thoughts and opinions about a text.

I started tuition with Nick when I was doing my English Literature GCSE in year 10 and I had just received a grade 3 in my first set of mocks. After being tutored by Nick, I went on to get a grade 7 in both English literature and English language and am now predicted to get an A* at A-level English Literature. Not only have I improved significantly from an academic perspective, but I feel much more confident in debating, thinking critically about a wide range of topics and articulating streams of thought into coherent arguments and ideas. Absolutely brilliant! From the first session, my sons confidence in his own ability started to grow. We have yet to see what the final results are, but just from what my son has said about the exams we are confident that he will do well and this is down to Nick. Nick has a very easy manner about him which instantly put my son at ease. I have found Nick an excellent English GCSE Tutor for my son: Nick has an excellent knowledge subject, has an amiable and professional approach. Nick is currently assisting my son with his GCSE studies. I only normally catch the last 5-10 minutes of the tutoring but Nicks enthusiasm and knowledge is clear to see. Nick's family are very welcoming also and my son genuinely enjoys his weekly lessons. After 3-4 weeks of lessons my son already has a much greater appreciation of the subject. Nick has been supporting my daughter in her GCSE English Literature and English Language studies. She has always struggled with English with low confidence and little progress (grade U at the end of year 10 Mock exam) Nick replied quickly to my initial email and always replies to texts promptly. He is flexible scheduling lessons, the lessons are well planned and he has worked hard to understand my daughter's needs and learning style. The support he has provided to help her understand the set texts and also with exam techniques has enabled my daughter to achieve a C in her mock taken in March of year 11.
