Hi, I'm Selina- a professional musician and drummer based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. I've been playing drums since the age of 11 and have spent my life immersed in music ever since. I perform regularly with multiple bands across a wide range of genres, from rock and pop to jazz and beyond, which means I bring real-world performing experience into every lesson. Whether you're picking up sticks for the first time or working towards exams, I'd love to help you find your rhythm!

Alongside my performing career, I'm a Senior Lecturer at a university, so teaching is at the heart of what I do every day. I currently run drum lessons on Thursday afternoons for students aged 6 to 14, and I've worked with learners of all abilities, and all ages; from complete beginners to those preparing for graded exams. My academic background means I understand how people learn, and I tailor every lesson to the individual student.

I believe learning the drums should be fun, engaging, and built on strong foundations. For younger students, I use games, colour play, and recall-and-action activities to develop the fundamental skills needed for sight reading and exams — all without it ever feeling like a chore. Lessons are structured around each student's goals and pace, whether that's working towards a grade, playing along to their favourite songs, or simply building confidence behind the kit. My aim is for every student to leave each lesson feeling motivated and proud of their progress.
