Hi, I'm Shazmin! I'm currently studying Pharmacy at UCL and have a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I have achieved A* grades in A-level Biology and Psychology, and an A in Chemistry. Having worked as an 1l+ examinations and A-level biology tutor, I've seen how much confidence can grow when students receive the right support that is tailored to their needs! As a visual learner, I know how frustrating it can be when a concept just doesn't click, which is why l use clear explanations, diagrams, and examples to help students build confidence in their understanding. In my free time, I love to bake, read, and go on long walks!

I worked for Bradley Tuition Group LLP, where I worked one-to-one with students preparing for the ll+ exam, supporting them across areas such as non-verbal reasoning, verbal reasoning, English and maths. I explained questions, helped them work through practice tasks, and broke down topics when they found them difficult. I also marked their work and gave feedback so they could see where they went wrong and how to improve. I also have experience teaching A-level biology to year 12 students on a weekly basis for a year, supporting them with exam technique and understanding.

As a visual learner myself, I know that sometimes all it takes is a different explanation for something to finally click. I enjoy getting to know how each student learns and adapting my lessons accordingly, whether that means using diagrams, worked examples, or talking through problems step by step. My approach is to first get a clear idea of what the student understands and identify any areas they need help with. I then work through problems together step by step, before encouraging the student to apply what they’ve learned independently.
