Hey there, my name is Oscar - I am a friendly 25 year old, 1st class maths graduate, from Exeter University - working full time as a self-employed Private Maths tutor.

I have been tutoring since 2022, and hosted 3000+ hours of 1:1 KS3/GCSE/iGCSE/AS level/A level sessions for which i have only ever had 5* reviews.

I provide a tailored and thorough tuition service, which has consistently led to boosted grades and student success.

I genuinely enjoy teaching maths, but of course, I have interests outside of maths too.

Im a keen Triathlete and love having an event to train for and work towards (Ironman or 70.3). I particularly enjoy road cycling, and the occasional 5 or 10K road running race. I like to spend summers traveling on my bike, exploring and seeing the world.

2 Years Volunteering - CoachBright - a social mobility charity on a mission to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become confident, independent and resilient.

I helped 12 GCSE students through Coachbright, providing weekly 1:1 sessions.

1 year Voluntary - Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) - During my final year at Exeter University, I hosted PAL sessions with up to 15 first / second year students - to help teach content from modules i had achieved highly in.

Sessions are relaxed and fun - Im young, friendly and very experienced at 1:1 tuition and helping students feel at ease.

I always like to get to know each student first, ask about their interests and tell them a little about me.

For the sessions I use a range of techniques to teach topics, tailored to individual students needs (Visual diagrams, real world examples, interactive whiteboards). This allows both the Online and In-Person sessions to be extremely effective - I often relate questions back to topics of particular interest to each student, to help with memorisation and engagement.

Personally - I have only ever achieved the highest grade in all levels of mathematics I have completed. A large part of the credit for that goes to my ability to utilise great exam technique and my understanding of exam board mark scheme nuances. Knowledge and tips for which i share in sessions to help my students to excel.
