I graduated from Cambridge University with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics in 1990. I was awarded a Masters degree in 1994. After working in industry for a number of years I then became a full-time tutor in 2006.
Since 2024, I have switched to tutoring part-time at the weekends. I am able to travel to students' homes or tutor online.
I started tutoring full-time in 2006 and have coached students from GCSE level up to undergraduate level.
I am able to explain complex ideas in simple language. Having tutored many GCSE and A level students over the years, I have developed the skill of being able to bridge the gap between GCSE and A level.
My son has only had three sessions so far with Stephen but has already found them very beneficial and looks forward to them. Thank you :)
I can confidently highly recommend Steve as a Maths tutor. He patiently worked with my son to successfully coach him through his Foundation GCSE Maths. The resulting grade 4 pass, up from a predicted grade 2, would not have been achieved without Steve’s assistance. He explained maths problems from a practical perspective to make the subject more relatable, This, combined with PLENTY of reviewing of past papers, ensured my son gained confidence and was more conscious of how to approach questions to ensure maximum marks were obtained.
Tutor response
Thank you for your review. Best wishes, Steve.
