Ali

Hi, I'm Ali; a 4th-year BDS Dentistry student at King's College London and a tutor with over five years of experience working with students across GCSE and A Level sciences.

Teaching Experience

With over five years of experience working with students across GCSE and A Level sciences.

Over that time I've worked with more than 100 students, accumulated over 1,000 hours of one-to-one tuition, and built up over 30 verified 5-star reviews from students and parents. I'm proud of those numbers, but what I'm most proud of is the results: in the past year, three of my five A Level Chemistry students moved from B/C to A* in their mocks, with similar improvements across all eight of my GCSE science students.

My own grades,3A* at A Level and 8A* at GCSE, reflect the same standards I hold my students to, and I understand from personal experience what it takes to get there.

Alongside academic tutoring, I have a particular passion for supporting students applying to dentistry and medicine. I've mentored over 15 students successfully into dental school, helping with UCAT preparation, personal statements, and interview technique. I have direct experience of the King's College London dental admissions process at the highest level.

This experience has given me a genuine understanding of what the application process involves, which I'm able to draw on when supporting my students.

Every student I teach receives free access to my own specification-specific revision resources and tailor-made flashcards as part of our lessons.

Tutoring Approach

I try to get to the root of why a student is finding something difficult, not just what they're getting wrong. From there, each lesson is built around their specific needs; whether that's filling gaps in understanding, building exam technique, or simply rebuilding confidence in a subject they've started to dread.

Sessions combine explanation, verbal questioning to check understanding in real time, and consistent homework to consolidate what we've covered. I keep parents informed after every lesson with honest, straightforward progress updates — I think transparency matters, and it helps students stay accountable between sessions.

If you have any questions before booking, feel free to message me. I'm happy to have a conversation about whether I'm the right fit for your child before committing to anything.
