Teaching Experience
I'm a full-time Science and Maths tutor with over 15 years teaching experience. I have a 1st degree in Astrophysics and QTS. I taught in a grammar school for a number of years before deciding to tutor full-time. I have taught a wide ranges of students of varying ages and abilities
Tutoring Approach
I'm very calm, patient and perhaps a bit eccentric. I am very passionate about the subjects I teach. I thoroughly believe in a "little but often" approach so that newfound understanding is maintained. I have always been told I am able to quickly build a good rapport with my tutors. I feel this is important as students need to feel comfortable enough to ask questions and to make mistakes so that they can learn from them.

Richard is an excellent physics tutor. Our son was originally predicted a C, but with Richard’s support, guidance and encouragement, he achieved an A and secured his place on his preferred university course. We would highly recommend Richard to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive and effective physics tutor.

Richard has been an outstanding tutor for my son, supporting him through his GCSEs in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as well as A-level Physics. His knowledge across all of these subjects is exceptional, but what really sets him apart is his ability to explain even the most challenging topics in a way that is easy to understand. Richard is patient, encouraging and genuinely cares about helping his students do well. He quickly worked out the areas where my son needed the most support and tailored each lesson to suit him, which really helped build both his understanding and his confidence. Richard has been reliable, professional and a pleasure to deal with throughout. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor.
