I trained as a teacher after spending 10 years working in professional politics. I found I wanted a career that had more positive impact on young people.

I began as a Learning Support Assistant for 2 years working with groups and one-to-one with pupils with SEND. When I qualified as a teacher I worked in schools in South East and North London before relocating to Perthshire. I currently teach as well as being a Housemaster at a leading independent boarding school.

Interventions only work when they are designed around the individual pupil. There is no one size fits all approach and so I use my experience to create a work pattern and programme that meets the specific needs.

The ultimate goal is exam success at this level so this remains the focus of all of my tutoring activities.
