I grew up in Wells, where I achieved the grade A in all 4 of my A-levels: Maths, French, Physics and Biology. I then went to study Physics at a university in Switzerland and finished my degree part time while working for an education charity in Bristol teaching maths and English up to GCSE level. I recently left the charity after 4 years to retrain as a plumber! I love playing football, playing and listening to music, reading, learning new things, and tutoring. Seeing my pupils' progress and witnessing them enjoying a subject more and more brings me joy.

I have been a tutor for the last decade, including teaching maths in French when I was in Switzerland. At that time I also worked at a summer camp in Switzerland for three years as an English teacher, animator and counselor for the children, so I understand the important relationship between learning and having fun. In my role at the education charity here in the UK I taught pupils, trained tutors, marked papers and kept up to date on the requirements for different GCSE exam boards and on foundation vs higher papers. I'm well-trained in both exam skills and efficient, thorough learning methods.

I am convinced that everyone can make great progress in any subject; that there are so many ways to explain the concepts and one of them will always 'click'. I'm passionate about understanding people's different learning styles, what sparks their curiosity in a subject, and finding the best way to share my experience and knowledge with every individual. All it requires is some good-quality time spent exploring ideas together.
