Tutor Profile

Maro

Hello! I'm Omar, a mathematics and physics tutor with over four years of professional teaching experience. I teach students across the U.S. and U.K. curricula, including SAT, ACT, AP, IB, IGCSE, A Level, and school mathematics from middle school through high school. I enjoy helping students turn difficult topics into concepts that feel clear and manageable. My teaching focuses on building real understanding and confidence, not memorization, so students can solve problems independently. My background in engineering has given me a strong foundation in applied mathematics and physics, allowing me to explain complex ideas in a simple and practical way.

Teaching Experience

I have over four years of professional tutoring experience, supporting students in both one to one and online settings. I have worked extensively with the U.K. curriculum, including IGCSE, A Level, and IB Mathematics, helping students strengthen their understanding, prepare for exams, and improve their overall performance. I also support students with Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Physics. My lessons are always adapted to each student's learning style and academic goals, whether they need long term support, exam preparation, or help with specific topics.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is based on building a strong understanding before focusing on exam technique. I first identify any gaps in a student's knowledge, then rebuild those foundations step by step before moving on to more challenging topics. For IGCSE, A Level, and IB students, I combine concept based learning with regular practice using past paper questions and mark scheme expectations, so students learn not only how to solve problems but also how to present their answers clearly to earn full marks. My goal is to help students become confident, independent thinkers who can apply mathematical ideas to unfamiliar questions, not just repeat memorized methods.
