Teaching Experience

2016 - 2022 During this period, I was primarily tutoring my elder daughter for her 11+ exam. She is now in a girls’ local grammar school based in South East London.

2022 - 2026 During this period, I was tutoring my younger daughter for her 11+ exam.

2023 - 2026 During this period, I started to teach children other than my own daughters. Though I started with a small number, currently I have around 60 regular students. Half of these students are preparing for their GCSEs and the other half are preparing for their A Level / A Level Further exams, covering various exam boards, including Edexcel, OCR, OCR MEI and AQA. Most of these lessons are conducted on an in-person and one-to-one basis. These students come from various grammar schools and private schools, including

Newstead Wood School, St Olave’s Grammar School, Wilson’s School, Eltham College, King’s College School, St Paul’s Girl School, Judd School, Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, Bromley High School, Dartford Grammar School, Sevenoaks School Eton College Winchester College Benenden Private School, etc

In addition to my own marketing channels, I work with the following agencies to acquire students.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is clear, structured and highly personalised. I do not simply show students how to answer individual questions; I help them understand the ideas behind the methods, connect different topics together, and build the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently.

I pay close attention to each student’s gaps, habits and thinking process. Some students need stronger foundations, some need more exam technique, and others need to be stretched with harder questions. My lessons are therefore adapted to the student’s level, target and personality.

With my background in actuarial mathematics and many years of working with complex mathematical ideas, I aim to make difficult topics feel logical and manageable. I believe good tutoring should not only improve marks, but also develop clearer thinking, better problem-solving skills and a more positive attitude towards mathematics.
